Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little project today – digging into the Kansas City Chiefs’ playoff history. I’ve always been a bit of a stats nerd, and with the Chiefs being, well, the Chiefs, I figured it was time to really understand their postseason journey.
First, I fired up my trusty old computer. I gotta say, sometimes I miss the whirring and clicking of the older machines. Anyway, I started with a simple search. Nothing fancy, just “Kansas City Chiefs playoff history.”
I started clicking around to gather all playoff appearances, wins, losses, Super Bowl appearances, and wins. Man, it was a trip down memory lane! I remember some of those games like they were yesterday – the highs, the lows, the nail-biting finishes.
My Process Was Pretty Basic:
- Gather the Data: I wanted the raw numbers. Every playoff game, every result.
- Organize it: You know, I’m a simple guy. so I put all of the information into an easy to follow and read order.
- Look for Patterns: Were there any streaks? Any notable opponents they faced repeatedly? Any interesting tidbits?
- Put my data into a table: Time to make a basic table and put all of that information into it, that way its easy to follow.
The Deep Dive
I’m not a professional journalist I went through game by game, noting the year, the opponent, the score, and whether it was a win or loss. And doing that, I put every single game into my table and started analyzing.
I did the work to separate each of their playoff appearances by decade. I wanted to see the numbers of how they performed throughout their history.
It was fun! Really makes you appreciate the journey the team has been on. It is also cool to go back and do the reasearch and work to find out everything.
