Well, I’ll tell ya, this whole Orange Bowl thing, it’s got folks talkin’, that’s for sure. They was gonna have this here press meetin’, you know, with them coaches, the Florida State fella, Mike somethin’-or-other, and that Georgia coach, Kirby Smart. Big shots, they are.
But then, wouldn’t ya know it, they up and canceled the whole darn thing! Canceled! Just like that. Made no sense to me, not one bit. Folks was lookin’ forward to hearin’ ’em jaw a bit, stir up some excitement for the game. You know, get the young’uns all riled up.
Now, they ain’t tellin’ nobody why they canceled it. Hush-hush, like it’s some big secret. Could be anythin’, I reckon. Maybe them coaches got better things to do. Maybe they’re off gallivantin’ somewhere, or maybe they just didn’t feel like talkin’ to nobody. Who knows?
- Travel stuff, they say. Planes and trains and what-not. Maybe them fellas couldn’t get a ride.
- Busy schedules, that’s another thing. These coaches, they always runnin’ around like chickens with their heads cut off.
- Recruitin’, they call it. Gotta go chase after them young fellas, get ’em to play for their team. Important stuff, I guess.
But still, it ain’t right, cancelin’ on folks like that. We was all set to hear what they had to say. This Orange Bowl, it’s a big deal, see? Georgia and Florida State, two good teams goin’ at it. We wanna know what them coaches are thinkin’, how they’re gonna win this game.
They did have one of them online meetin’s, you know, with the Georgia defense fella and some of his players. But that ain’t the same, not by a long shot. We wanna see them coaches in person, hear ’em talk, see ’em squirm a little when them reporters ask ’em tough questions.
This whole thing just smells fishy to me. Makes you wonder what’s really goin’ on behind the scenes. Maybe there’s some trouble brewin’, or maybe they just don’t wanna talk about it. Whatever it is, it ain’t right keepin’ folks in the dark.
Anyways, the game’s still on, as far as I know. And that’s what really matters, I guess. But it would’ve been nice to hear from them coaches, get their take on things. Build up a little excitement, you know?
So, no press conference, huh? Just leaves us folks to guess and gossip. Well, that’s what we do best, I reckon. We’ll be talkin’ about this Orange Bowl, with or without them coaches, ’til the cows come home. We just want a good game, that’s all.
And I tell ya, I got my money on Georgia. Them Bulldogs, they’re tough. But Florida State, they ain’t no pushovers neither. It’s gonna be a good one, you just wait and see. And maybe, just maybe, them coaches will tell us somethin’ ‘fore the game starts. But I ain’t holdin’ my breath.
